Barton Bank Cottage

We had a fabulous week staying at Barton Bank, a cosy cottage perfectly located for exploring the countryside around Chester and Wrexham (we did a day trip to Conwy, explored nearby Delamere Forest, and did some lovely walks along the River Dee). Chris and Graham are wonderful hosts, and gave excellent recommendations for good food and pubs in the local area. The cottage is fitted out with everything you could need, plus lovely touches like fairy lights and a fire pit. We loved our chilled evenings on the private decking (and our spaniel had a great time exploring the field)!

This cozy little cottage has a very efficient woodburner which is lit for your arrival and can be quickly relit when returning from your day's activity. Chris and Graham provide a generous selection of breakfast ingredients and some sweet treats for cosy evenings in. The double bed is comfortable and the bedding is of good quality. We were staying during the week of major storms so we were not able to enjoy all of the outdoor activities we had planned but felt safe and warm throughout our stay.

What a beautiful place to stay. A perfect place for a work meeting or a romantic getaway. So many people said ‘just what we needed’ in the visitors book; I said a stay at Barton should be on prescription.

After a few hours spent exploring the Sandstone Trail from the starting point of the medieval Beeston Castle, what could be more relaxing then to rest your weary legs sitting outside under the shelter of the cottage's oak garden structure? Glass of chilled wine or the local brew in hand, watching the owners' horses graze peacefully in their field in front of you.

27 steps to an idyllic hideaway for two! Snug but oh so perfectly formed with everything you could ever need for a romantic getaway for two. Tranquil, cozy, and welcoming, we felt ‘at home’ almost from the minute we arrived. We received a warm friendly welcome from the owner but this was never intrusive and he was extremely helpful in ‘local knowledge’. The ‘breakfast pack’ was superb! Generous, and catered for all tastes. I cannot wait to return in the near future and wouldnt hesitate to recommend Barton Bank Cottage to everyone I know!

Brilliant. 4 days of peaceful tranquility. No traffic noise, well appointed cottage. Owners very friendly but left you to your own devices. Will definately be booking again.
