The Experience
Enjoy views from every window over the vast moor and woodland at the edge of the Estate. This generous old farmhouse has an understated cottage garden protected by a high wall, paths of local stone winding through pollinator-friendly planting, a big lawn for games and a barbecue for summer suppers.
Interiors celebrate British craftsmanship with lovely furniture, paintings and vintage pieces. A sociable kitchen is at the heart of the house with lots of counter space and all the kit you’ll need. Bedrooms are bright and calm with botanical prints, feather bedding and crisp white linen.
Walk endless paths through the quiet woods and stomp across the moor; Chatsworth is just two miles away with house, gardens, farm and brewery to entertain and the farm shop to tempt you. Hole up at the house on chilly days and you’ll find plenty of board games and books along with logs for the wood-burner.

Location
The neighbourhood
A private drive leads through woods up onto the moor – estate staff will direct you. The Beeley Inn is a 10-minute drive and uses produce from the estate and local farms. Chatsworth Farm shop sells fresh produce, wine and there is a butcher on site. Head to Baslow, 15 mins, for independent local cafés. The nearest train stations are Chesterfield, Matlock and Sheffield.
It's a truly beautiful farmhouse that gives you a cosy feel of a home away from home. The rooms are very spacious, bright, and airy, with comfortable beds and great interior art all around the house. I loved the woodland that surrounds this place – so peaceful and tranquil, you wouldn't guess that you're so close to Chatsworth House. And yet, it's only a five-minute drive down the hill!
