The Experience
Just 20 minutes from central London, this bolthole for two was once home to the horses of a wealthy merchant. It’s a modern space, a wall of windows and a pretty cobblestone pathway the sole reminders of its former use. An open space, divided by large Lego-like blocks into four levels by its architect owner, it keeps its creative buzz.
Whitewashed bricks and woven cream carpeting are brightened by fresh flowers and the occasional floral print. Your bedroom is on the top mezzanine: a nimble step up a short flight of wood and metal stairs painted a racing green. Bed linen is crisp and a small hanging rail suits the trendy warehouse style.
Below the bedroom is a mini-mezzanine with a desk where you can browse design magazines and enjoy your plasma TV. In the raftered kitchen find tea, coffee and a cosy table for two; the minimalist bathroom is off here.
