The Experience

On the edge of Weybourne village this relaxed hotel is a triumph crafted from a run-down pub, granary and old stables. Now it’s filled with colour and character. Locals pop in for lunch in the two-storey, industrial-chic Grain Store or to pick up excellent wine from The Bottle Shop; visitors sip cocktails in two stylish bars or cosy up on deep sofas in the Library or Games Room.

Fanning across the main building and renovated outbuildings, 28 comfortable, individually styled bedrooms come with walk-in showers, wet rooms or a free-standing tub. Choose from Snug, Cosy or Comfy through to Spacious, or Super Spacious if you’re bringing the family and your dog.

There’s a wow-factor dining experience: tuck into sharing platters celebrating local seafood with the open-to-view kitchen in sight. Walk it off on a stroll to the beach and coast path.

Reviews

Following a stunning three-year refurbishment of a run-down pub, granary and old stables, The Maltings opened in August 2024 to reveal a cool, relaxed hotel with 28 individually styled rooms and a wow-factor dining experience in the restored granary – think sharing platters, open-to-view kitchen and an industrial feel. A unique venue near Holt and just a 15-minute walk from the beach and coast path.

Location

The neighbourhood

Enjoy big skies as you stroll beautiful, deserted beaches or hike for miles along the long-distance coast path. Take a boat trip to watch the seals at Blakeney Point - also a breeding ground for waders and terns. Bird lovers will also enjoy the Wildlife Trust Cley Marshes. Cromer (seven miles) is a standout beauty with a Victorian pier while two National Trust halls are close.

Local points of interest from The Maltings

  • Weybourne isn’t just on the coast. It’s perched right on the edge of England’s eastern edge. Our nearby beaches are sandy and stony (there’s something for everyone).
  • Explore historic castles (Castle Acre) and stately homes (Blickling Estate, Felbrigg Hall and Holkham Hall).
  • Walk around the Walsingham ruins and find out more about its religious pilgrimages. Come for the scenery and linger for a while…
  • Sheringham Park - This National Trust park and garden has a thousand of acres of woodland and parkland to explore.
  • Blakeney Point - It's a famous for its seals. If you do nothing else, join one of the seal boat trips from Morston Quay. It's perfect for all the family - including dogs.
  • North Norfolk Railway - Weybourne Station is part of the North Norfolk Railway and has been restored to its original condition.
