Mint Croft - Blackhouse Cottage

Built in the 1800s, one half of the building has a turf roof (with bluebells in spring, wild grasses, sometimes orchids) and there are different levels so it feels much bigger than it is. There is the Croft House next door but you’re facing another way so you’ll be private. Downstairs find a bright, spacious living room with a big sofa at one end and a dining room and well-thought-out kitchen at the other – everything a serious cook could need is here.

Along the corridor and up the stairs your dreamy bedroom awaits – more like a suite with a huge picture window for taking in the views, a plump mattress with feather duvet and pillows, a soft Scottish wool throw and cosy bath robes. Binoculars sit by the window so you can look out for wildlife or scan the brilliant night skies.
