Crookston House

Lovely place to stay, super hosts, made us really welcome. The house is lovely and grounds are full of wildlife, brilliant!

We found Crookston House through your website, and have just been back for a second time. It is such a wonderful place to stay. A most interesting and historic house, in a beautiful place, and with a very special family atmosphere. We loved our extremely large and comfortable bedroom and bathroom, and were most impressed by the delicious dinner and huge breakfast Georgina cooked for us.

The pictures do not do this justice...it is an incredible property. Beautiful rooms with acres of lush gardens. Georgina and Malcolm are terrific hosts and extremely helpful in planning a visit. Location is short drive to train stations and 12 minutes to Edinburgh. Beautiful countryside to walk or drive.

What an amazing place. We have stayed in many Sawday properties which have all been very special, but Crookston would be at the top of the list for us, due to the rich history and friendly welcome. You are surrounded by family portraits and antiques in a beautiful setting with cosy rooms and a log fire. We will be back.

I stayed at Crookston House for only one night – I wish it had been more. The house is like a stately home, surrounded by 47 acres of woodland and gardens. From the time the booking was made to my reluctant departure Georgina and Malcolm were so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was very large and beautifully decorated with the most sumptuous bed. The bathroom had a freestanding bath with lashings of hot water. Breakfast was all local produce and delicious. I can not recommend Crookston House highly enough – we will be returning.

A very special place to stay. Beautiful house in peaceful setting. Very comfortable, spacious and elegant bedrooms, and delicious breakfasts. Lovely sitting room to relax in.. We appreciated the friendliness of our hosts and the warmth of their welcome.

We where one of the first guests visiting Crookston House. My mouth fell open because of all the ingrediënts that makes this B&B the perfect place to stay. There is this lovely Georgina with the warmest welcome you could wish for. Her natural charm reminded us of Lady Diana's. Fresh baked shortbread, a house to die for and the best bed we slept in this two week golf trip. When i closed the curtains in the evening i saw deer running through the garden. After a tasty breakfast in the morning we sadly had to leave. Thank you so much Georgina!

My wife and I enjoyed the most lovely stay in what has to be the ultimate Scottish B&B! This is the most fabulous, traditional, baronial home with paintings, antiques and decor to match - all set in a glorious estate which you can wander around with woodland and a small lake. The hosts provided the warmest of welcomes and the comfort of the bedroom suite and the quality of the breakfasts were simply outstanding. The perfect place for a relaxing, romantic break!
