Riverside Cabin

We had a pitch perfect stay in the riverside cabin. As well as being very comfy, warm and immaculately clean, the devil was in the detail..of grass green walls and pale pink furnishings, the beautiful olive green earthenware pot to house wooden spoons and spatulas, the art work on the walls and characterfully shambolic shed in the garden. We hope to return.

A truly magical place to rest one's head. Beds extremely comfortable and a good sized bathroom. All rooms are spotlessly clean with everything provided to make life easy. The Living Room is large, with plenty of chairs and a sofa. The table sits 6-8, depending on size. All white goods are again modern and easy to use. Special mention for the clothes dryer, which is impressive in both size and efficiency. Modern radiators are extremely efficient and the log fire is an added bonus. I look forward to returning.

We've just had a wonderful stay at Riverside Cabin - I can't recommend it highly enough. Really comfortable, spotlessly clean, very cosy, fabulously well equipped, really dog-friendly and in a lovely location within a very pretty, friendly village (with a great local pub serving good food just a short walk away). Lovely local walks, both from the door and within a short drive. The perfect location to relax and unwind. Communication with Louisa was excellent - she couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. We loved everything about it - thank you!

Beautifully locate cabin. Sat relaxing and listening to the river flow passed and watching the wildlife was a brilliant part of this holiday. Bed was so comfy, shower fabulous, specially after a days walking. Cabin fully equipped and very comfortable. The guide to local walks an added bonus. Hope to be back again some day.

Lovely location, well equipped cottage, great time had by all!

We had a comfortable and cosy stay in characterful Riverside Cabin. Attractively decorated with comfortable beds and very warm if the weather is bad. It’s also in a lovely setting with loads to do in the local area. Cross Keys pub, a stroll away is a very welcoming with good food and live music at weekends. Melrose is a nice town with independent shops. Lots to do in the area as well as walks, kayaking and wild swimming. We really enjoyed visits to Walter Scott’s home and Tranquair House.

I initially chose this cabin due to its location, a beautiful and fairly remote little village in the Scottish Borders. The added bonus was the proximity of the cabin to a beautiful river which could be viewed from both inside and outside the cabin. The cabin itself is absolutely gorgeous. It has everything you need for a get away including a lovely log fire and powerful shower. It is beautifully furnished and spotless. I cannot recommend this place highly enough to anyone considering visiting, I know that we will definitely be back at some point in the not too distant future.

Riverside cabin was absolutely perfect, clean well presented, very comfortable bed white bedding. Kitchen has everything you need, open fire for chilli nights. We loved the peace and quiet with just the sound of the river. Louisa left a bottle bubbly and biscuits lovely. The local pub is great ( The Crosskeys) we had fantastic meal and game of darts. Being central was great, hour and bit to Edinburgh, Selkirk 5 miles and Peebles nice place to visit the hills great to escape We love Scotland and the cabin so hope to go back soon .

Very pleasant stay in quiet peaceful surroundings

This property is a fab place to stay for a quiet retreat in the Scottish Borders.

Lovely cabin. Great location for visiting so many Scottish Borders villages. Set in a beautiful village with a welcoming village pub. Duck and chickens to the left and sheep to the right so you need to keep your dog under control but a tranquil place to chill and relax .

Excellent property in a great location. The property was very comfortable and represents great value for money. We loved the information on the local area including walks and food recommendations.

Pros Great location off the beaten track, literally just outside Etterickbridge. Beautiful, homely and surprisingly warm cabin with everything you'd need. Ideal location for exploring the area, salmon fishing, walking, or just plain old chilling. Very comfortable and cost stay. We'll certainly be back. Cons Parking is on main road only, and steps down to cabin need careful negotiation, carry torch if arriving at night. Nothing to do with Sawday's, but sadly village pub closed.

We had a wonderful and peaceful stay at the Riverside cabin for 1 wk in June and would highly recommend it! Comfy beds, warm duvets, great shower, fast broadband and a lovely big living room meant that my family and I could rest and enjoy our meals together at the big table. The location is idyllic; located next to the river, with mountain views and chickens next door (fresh eggs can be purchased). Ettrickbridge is a lovely village and the pub is only a 5 minute walk over the bridge, which serves local beers/whiskey and tasty food every day. Thanks Louisa for making our stay so relaxing!

Riverside Cabin From start to finish a wonderful experience. The cabin exceeded our expectations on all levels, just such a nice atmosphere and well kitted out. Chickens out one window, lambs out the other. Evenings sitting out back in the sun overlooking the river watching the fish feed in the pool below. Garden full of wild flowers and errant grouse. Pub literally 10 minutes over the bridge, Selkirk and all its bounty 15 minutes drive down the road. Plenty of walks and friendly locals abound. Charming, secluded and just a beautiful place to go. We'll definitely be back!

This is the second time we have stayed in the Cabin by the river. It’s perfect for us. Spotlessly clean, cosy and practical, particularly love the large utility room for the dog. It’s our go to place when visiting family in the area.

A lovely place to stay - the sunny living area is the total width of the cabin so there's loads of space. The wildflower garden and the river are rich with wildlife so sitting on the loggia will be addictive and you can walk to the village pub if you don't feel like cooking.
