The Experience

Bump down the rough track and stretching out before you is the glorious rocky coastline and the steep peaks of the Corsican mountains – at night the lights of far off villages twinkle in the distance. It’s blissfully rural and you’ll spend all your time outdoors either bubbling in the jacuzzi, enjoying the lush garden or exploring the island.

There are three suites in the house, all with their own sitting rooms and terraces, and a huge bed open to the skies on a private terrace, with its own safari tent to duck into in case it rains (a rare event).

Isabelle, your host, is a fantastic cook. Meals are either eaten on the terrace overlooking the garden with other guests or in your room if you prefer. Breakfast is a generous spread: juices, breads, local ham and cheese, homemade pastries and supper is a three-course gourmet affair. A 20-minute walk takes you to the coast where you’ll find a sandy cove for swimming and sun bathing.

Reviews

We have just had the most lovely three days staying here. Isabelle is the most attentive host, the room was exquisite, extremely comfortable and with incredible views. Breakfast was glorious and shared with other guests. Couldn’t recommend the experience highly enough.

Peter, Salisbury

I stayed here one night in early October and spent the evening in the jacuzzi at the bottom of the garden, sipping on local beer, watching the sun set on the sea crashing onto the unspoilt rocky coastline below me. It was just me, the rocks, the sea and the setting sun. Utterly unforgettable and I long to return!

Location

The neighbourhood

As well as being able to stroll to the beach you can also walk along the rocky coast path to the nearest town, Campomoro, which has a perfectly curved sandy bay and a few bars and restaurants. The best way to explore is by electric bike which will tackle all the hills with ease! There's something for everyone here; from hiking and canyoning to snorkelling and sunbathing.

Local points of interest from Isabelle Vermeere

  • You're 3km from Campomoro, the start of many lovely walking routes. Visit the Tour de Campomoro for good views too.
  • The Campomoro beach is 3km away and the Portigliolo beach is 7km away where you can paddleboard, go sailing, surfing, hire boats and go diving.
  • From the house you can walk to secret wild coves...
  • Our little added extras....borrow parasols, snorkels, masks and beach games from us!
  • We're on a protected coastline, so the nature, fauna and flora are all beautifully preserved.

Introducing

Isabelle Vermeere

Isabelle hails from mainland France but holidayed here as a child when her father built the house in the 70s. She moved here permanently a few years ago with her youngest child who's still at school. Her other children are studying in France but come in the holidays to visit her and their school friends. She is hugely knowledgeable about the island and loves hosting guests and cooking.
