The Experience
This is just the ticket for big family holidays but with your own little retreats if you want some peace and quiet. The master apartment has a large kitchen and dining area and a spacious living room where you can all come together, cook, eat, sit and chat. All the suites have access to the communal panoramic terrace with lovely views over three acres of garden: trees, terraces and dry stone walls, with mountains in the distance.
Bedrooms are light, bright and have unobstructed country views from all the windows – you’ll be raring to go outdoors. Sit on the terrace listening to birds and noisy crickets in summer, have a refreshing dip in the pool, light the Weber barbecue for summer suppers, open the organic or biodynamic wine and tuck into the nibbles waiting for you.
You’re on the outskirts of the tiny medieval village of Correns – a 3-minute drive or pleasant stroll for your morning baguettes and croissants.

Location
The neighbourhood
Correns is dominated by a massive medieval fort and there's a lovely stone bridge over the river Argens. There are many farm stands selling local produce on the roadside and the market day is Friday. Cotignac is larger, has more shops and market on a Tuesday (often crowded so go early.) Eat at Le Clos des Vignes, a restored sheep farm. Visit organic wineries, buy award-winning wines and olive oils.
Local points of interest from Christophe Decker
- In 1997 Correns was nominated the '1st Organic Village in France', our farming community proudly produce organic wine, goats cheese, eggs, chickens, honey, olive oil & vegetables which you can buy directly, in the village shops & Cotignac's Tuesday market.
- There are lots of activities to enjoy here in our village; cycling, mtb, hiking, kayaking, rockclimbing, horseriding, tennis, boules, fishing, bathing and wine tasting. Golf, watersports, wild swimming, museums, abbeys, waterfalls & lakes all around us.
- A short 20 minutes drive will take you to Château Miraval - one of Brad Pitt's homes and his recording studio.
- From Correns, you are ideally positioned to explore this lovely region - within an hour drive you can visit the Gorges du Verdon, Lac de Sainte Croix, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Abbey du Thoronet and St Tropez, Cannes, Monte Carlo are great day trips.
- Our property is a short walk to the village which has a few shops, the main supermarket is 5km away. There is one good restaurant and pop up restaurants serving family menus in the summer. We have a list of many great places to eat in our Guest Welcome.
- Correns is easily accessible from Nice, Marseille and Toulon international airports (1.15hr) or take the train to Aix-en-Provence or Les Arcs stations (50min). A car is necessary to explore the area.

Introducing
Christophe Decker
Christophe and Christèle are a young, energetic French couple with 3 teenage daughters. She is a psychologist, he is a keen runner, swimmer and skydiver. With close friends and family in the area, they had been looking for a property in this part of the Var since returning to Paris after a 3-year business assignment in California, and bought the house in late 2022. They live in the 'Tuscan' tower which is to the left of the guest quarters.
The Bastide de Correns, tucked away in spectacular, secluded, stress free, harmonious surroundings, is the ideal get-away for family or friends looking to recharge batteries from urban life or demanding jobs. Lazy lunches, dips in the pool or reading a good book in a comfortable hammock tied to a shady cork oak. This is perfect fa niente, an exceptional find in rural Provence.
