The Experience

In spring, water gushes through the 170-hectare estate: the 12th-century Knights Templar created myriad irrigation channels, the life-source of this stunning place.  Martina and Claude, the proud possessors of the EU Ecolabel, love it all and their passion for sustainability and living carbon-zero shines through: they’ve planted over 4,000 trees and have installed a photovoltaic charging pod for bikes and cars. The main house is arranged around a central patio, with stairs leading to the bedrooms above. Breakfasts are scrumptious; dinners put the accent on Provençal produce and their own wine. In the cellar: music and a mini cinema. Also table football and a heated pool with a view, a sauna, a Turkish bath and a well-stocked library. Beyond is Mont Ventoux for daring cyclists, Gorges du Verdon, Cotignac, St-Maximin-la-Ste-Baume. This place is very family friendly with a children’s pool, donkeys, Shetland ponies, swans, ducks and geese. During winter you can do a long-term let or use as a home office.

Reviews

A lovely location in a large estate with vineyards, meadows and woodland which you can explore. You can spend all day relaxing on the estate or get out and discover the surrounding small villages and towns with their markets, or venture as far as the coast, historic Aix-en-Provence, or beyond. Martina and Claude together with their helpers provided convivial evening meals on several evenings during our stay. Our room in the main house was spacious, clean and comfortable with views over the vineyards.

What an amazing place! The owner, Martina, couldn't have been more helpful. We missed our first night due to a delayed flight, so she went out of her way to cook us an exceptional dinner in her kitchen as we'd missed our pre-paid meal the night before. Luckily we didn't miss the next 'family style dinner' on our final night, served outside with all the guests seated together - so convivial and copious amounts of food and wine and great company. But the highlight was the Sound Bath in the atmospheric Knights Templar chapel - an experience I shall never forget. A gem of a place.

James, Bath

We enjoyed every minute of our 3 day stay and had plenty to do without leaving the estate. Martine and Claude are excellent hosts and our accommodation was very comfortable. Walks around the estate include gardens, woods, fields, vineyards, a hill top viewing tower and a lovely old chapel. We were amazed by the abundance of wild flowers and butterflies. There is a very well maintained heated pool and a useful summer kitchen. The food was very good and we really enjoyed the Provencal dinners and breakfasts.Definitely recommended for a relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings.

We spent a couple of nights at Une Campagne en Provence and wished we’d been able to stay longer. Martina and Claude are perfect hosts, the tasty and generous table d’hôte dinners are excellent (as is breakfast), and the property is beautiful. Our room, bed and bathroom were comfy and clean, and the décor is colourful and bright. We loved the various outdoor eating areas, water features, statuary and terraces, countryside walks through the vineyards, the hilltop tower, the hidden chapel in the woods, the stables and of course the heated outdoor pool. We hope to return soon.

Patrick, Caen

We had a lovely stay with Martina and Claude and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Our room was spacious, bright and comfy. Plenty of breakfast, delicious home made jams and local honey. We were lucky to enjoy the traditional Easter dinner with some of the other guests. The food was really nice and dietary requests catered for. Martina and Claude were very helpful suggesting interesting places and routes to explore. We also went horse riding during our stay, again organised by Martina. We had a great stay and highly recommend a visit.

In spite of poor weather we had the most wonderfully memorable visit to Une Campagne en Provence. Martina and Claude gave us the warmest of welcomes and made us feel like house guests rather than paying guests. Our room was lovely in sunny Provencal colours with gorgeous views over the estate and a very comfortable bed. We were fortunate enough to be staying on one of the two nights a week that Martina provides supper for her guests; this was simply delicious and shared with other guests who it was a pleasure to meet. We will definitely go back for another stay hopefully when the sun is shinig
