The Experience
Imagine a winding road past fields and ancient fruit groves to a cluster of cream-white trulli outside the village of Locorotondo – enchanting inside and out. They are owned by generous Rosalba who lives minutes down the road, and is proud of her heritage and passionate about her land (vineyards, citrus groves, olives): her enthusiasm is contagious. Every trullo has its outdoor patch, fringed by billowing muslin, scented by mint, thyme, rosemary and lavender… outrageously romantic! Step inside, to a hobbit’s world of luxurious rusticity: white walls and chunky stone arches, heated tiles and monogrammed towels, smart modern textiles and wonderful handmade mattresses (each spring is enfolded in fabric). Bathrooms are serene, toiletries are herbal, and one trullo has a bath tub. But you are here to be spoiled and Rosalba’s breakfasts, cooked or continental, are served under the sociable pergola or in the dining room. Bikes are available, beaches are ten miles and the Valle d’Itria area is brimming with great places to visit: Ostuni is stunning. Restaurants are close, or you can dine in – on traditional Pugliese dishes.

Our first nights in Puglia spent in a lovely location with charming hosts. Sweet Rosalba and her team make you feel at home and go out of their way when help is needed. Our trullo and private garden were magical, and with heated tiled flooring and comfortable bed and bathroom, we wished we could have stayed longer. A special mention goes to the food: from lovely breakfasts with freshly baked tarts and cakes by Raffaella to gorgeous 6-course tasting dinners of typical Apulian dishes, they were a real treat (did not meet the talented chef). Don't miss out on this place if you can!

Superb. Loved this gorgeous place. The owner, Rosalba is a joy, with her warm hospitality. We cannot fault the place, with a lovely truly and its own garden it was quite romantic. Best of all was the gorgeous food. The breakfast was delightful and the degustazione dinner of six courses in front of a blazing log fire (it was October when we stayed!) was probably the best meal I have ever eaten. Quick, stay at this place before they put up the prices. It is a bargain.

My son and I had a lovely and peaceful 5 days at Leonardo's. The food was delicious; the accommodation was very comfortable and pleasant and the owners and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Thank you to all of you for making our holiday so enjoyable.
