The Experience
Where to start? This 14th-century Tuscan villa is serenely lovely. Breathe in the scent of old-fashioned roses from a seat on the Renaissance loggia. Wander through olive trees to the pool. Retreat to the house for some 1800s elegance.
Rooms are big, beautiful, full of light, and everything has been kept as it was, with a superb attention to detail. Bedrooms are all different, all striking. Some have frescoes and silk curtains, others have fabrics commissioned from a small Tuscan workshop.
Breakfast is a generous buffet of homemade cakes, cheeses, cold cuts, locally made jams and honey. Dinner is equally delicious, with a nightly-changing menu, showstopping classic Tuscan recipes and an impressive wine list. If you’re still peckish the next day, tour the best cured meats and pecorino cheese producers nearby– just ask the lovely staff for an itinerary.

Location
The neighbourhood
You’re surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and rolling hills with stoney hamlets in the distance. Marvel at the Benedictine abbey of Passignanno and dine at the Michelin starred Osteria opposite; head to the Castello Sonnino in Montespertoli for wine tours and tastings, or Villa Le Corti for cooking lessons – all 20-minutes’ drive. The medieval streets of Siena are only a 40-minute drive.
Local points of interest from Monica Cozzi
- Visit Castello Sonnino in Montespertoli, a seventeenth century castle still used as the home of its owners, the Baron De Renzis.
- We offer dinner in our own restaurant, with a menu based on the best of traditional Tuscan cuisine and using local, seasonal produce. Check out Corzano e Paterno, a farm producing some of Chianti's best cheeses, as well as hosting oil and wine tasting.
- The villa is not far from the beautiful medieval villages of Montefioralle and Badia a Passignano - try the restaurant Osteria di Passignano and visit the Antinori Cellars.
- San Gimignano, the famous walled medieval town, with its beautiful towers, and Certaldo, birthplace of the 14th century poet Boccaccio.
- Explore some of Tuscany's best-known towns and cities: Greve in Chianti 17km, Siena 50km, Volterra 60km, Pisa 78km & Lucca 90km.
- Come and relax in our spa and wellness centre, created to complete your stay among the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside. It has been designed especially for the villa and offers simple treatments using natural products from the region.

Introducing
Monica Cozzi
Much loved, full of memories, this is the childhood home of brothers Johanan and Nathanel Vitta, who devoted two years to its restoration - an oil painting of their grandmother welcomes you as you enter. You’ll meet manager Monica and her professional, warm team – they clearly love being here and want you to love it too.
Once you experience the calm and flavors of this lovely family home, it will be hard to pull yourself away, but the delightful staff has excellent recommendations for exploring the many artistic and culinary highlights of the Chianti region. Of course, Florence and Siena are near, but even closer are castles and wineries, abbeys and hiking trails. The area is a paradise for foodies.
