The Experience
Let the calm, luxurious atmosphere of this private hotel untangle any stress – the scenic coast road, the gentle wind up into the hills, and the amazing Bay view add to the idyll. French Lucie manages the Iturregi show with charm and professionalism; she and her team have time for everyone.
Just eight elegant bedrooms have sea and mountain views and great bathrooms, some open-plan; a stay in the lavish loft suite with its own balcony (there is a lift) is especially memorable. Some first-floor rooms have fabulous balconies too.
Take a glass of local wine and tapas out into the landscaped grounds, there’s a stylish pool and hammocks to ponder from… Gastronomes can book some of the Basque country’s 40 Michelin starred restaurants; Getaria has two. Walkers can stride out into the surrounding hills, equipped with maps and the best advice.
